How to enable Logging on the Skype for Business app?

For Desktop Client: First exit Skype for Business client:

1.From the Skype for Business Client Click on Tools > Options >

2. Under the Logging in Skype for Business select: Full

3. Click OK

4. Restart Skype for Business Client.

5. Attempt to reproduce the issue.

6. Skype for Business UCCAPILOG Logs can be found in \tracing.

7. Exact path for Skype for Business client:

  • Skype for Business 2015 Client: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\Tracing
  • Skype for Business 2016 Client: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\Tracing

8. There will typically be a searchable error in there a clue to point you further in troubleshooting.

For Skype for Business Mac client: Enable log on Skype for Business Mac client: Open Skype for Business > Preferences > select the “General”

Click on “Collect Logs” button

  • You can find log here: ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.SkypeForBusiness/Data/Library/Logs/com.microsoft.SkypeForBusiness
  • Select the zipped file and send to IT support Team

 

Skype for Business Mobile App: How to enable logging on the Skype for Business iOS mobile app?

1.Open Skype for Business Mobile app – click on your name or photo.

2. Select “Settings” tab

3. Under the Other section tap “Logging”. Toggle to ON to Enable Logging. Refer below image.

4. Restart Skype for Business Mobile App.

5. Attempt to replicate the issue

6. Return to My Info – Options – Other – Logging. There will be a Send Log Files button. Tap it and send an email with the attached log files to yourself.

How to enable Logging on the Skype for Business Mobile app for Android?

On the Android device, after a user is signed in, press the hardware menu button and tap Options in the menu.

  1. On the Options screen, check if the Logging option is turned on. If not, turn on the Logging option
  1. Then sign out, and then sign in again.
  2. Restart Skype for Business Mobile app. Attempt to replicate the issue and return to the Options Menu. Options – Other – Logging. There will be a Send Log Files button. Tap it and send an email with the attached log files to yourself.
  3. You can turn of the Logging option > under advance option turned Off the Logging option.
