How to schedule Teams live event?

Before scheduling Live event, you must have “Live Event Policies” assigned to your account, you can contact your Administrator to get policy assigned to your account, I have assigned Live event policy to my account in order to allow to schedule live event.

First Login to https://teams.microsoft.com/ with your credential, login ID look like, (bilag@mydomain.com and your password) 

Note: make sure presenter/organizer has Microsoft Teams license assigned. Teams license available under planE1, E3, E5 and Education Tenant. Government Tenant support coming soon.

  1. Now sign-in to Microsoft Teams Microsoft Teams > Meetings > Schedule a meeting >

2. Top left hand-side drop down menu select “New live event (preview)”.

3. Fill the information to schedule event; as showed in below image.

Title: Give meaningful title to your live event.

Select location: by default, location is Microsoft Teams meetings.

Start and End date and time.

Invite the people to your event.

Organizer: select event team members

Details: Add proper description to live event

Once you click on Next, you will see live event permission and Live event production type. Select appropriate live event permission, since this is test event, I selected as “Org-wide” so that anyone from my organization can join this event. Refer below image.

After selecting live event permission, you can select event types, under live event production, I have selected “Quick Start” as type, so that I can use one or more webcams or cameras connected to presenter computer for streaming video. Refer below image.

Finally, click on Schedule, to schedule the teams live event and showed in calendar. After event scheduled you will see invite, Like below image shows meeting scheduled.

If you have audio conferencing enabled, then your live event will have audio bridge added to allow attendees join audio portion of Teams live event. This was not available in Skype Meeting Broadcast. Dial-in capability is not yet tested.
